A Picture Perfect Challenge

Oh my goodness. What a Challenge at Heart2Heart. They say a picture is worth a thousand words but our inspiration picture is so full of possibilities. Where do you start? I studied the picture for two days before I could settle on just one card. I had twenty in my mind but most of them were already taken by other very talented artist.

Being a California girl this room looks like a room at a beach cottage.
Oh, yea my Footloose Workshop On The Go just got here and I was ready to play.
It has the colors, the feel, and the shapes that are in this photo.
I was drawn to the four photos on the wall behind the couch. I really liked the white crispness with the brown and blue earthy tones. I also added a little green from the chair.
Now I hope you don't have to study this photo for two days but if you do you will still have time to enter your artwork for a chance to win some goodies. Let's see what inspired you. Be sure to post at Heart2Heart.

Peeps are Peeking Heart 2 Heart

This week at Heart 2 Heart it's time to get sketchy. My peeps want to peek out of the box so I had to turn the sketch one turn clockwise.

Cut the treat box on page 29 of the Cricut booklet 6 1/4". Cut a 2 1/4" opening in the front of the box. Add egg border from My Peeps stamp set. Secure flower and tag in the top corner and insert peeps.

A Blast From the Past

It's a new challenge: Use It or Lose It
Challenge #1 is to use your first stamp. Now, for me I had to go back 14 years when CTMH was D.O.T.S. and our stamps were rubber stamps mounted on those wooden blocks. Most of my woodies are gone but I did find one that has the D.O.T.S. copyright on the block. It was R 103 Carousel Horse.
While making this updated version of the Carousel Horse I used some of the techniques we used in 1998. Notice that the stamp itself is embellished with lots of dots randomly placed around the image.
On the inside to coordinate with this design I use our writers to draw stitching lines and then randomly place dots around the stitching. This was a super fun challenge. Thanks Use It or Lose It.
Be sure to visit the Use It or Lose It challenge blog and go back in time and relive the memories. Be sure to share your memories with all.

Sharing From The Heart Blog Hop

Well here were are, another month flyin' on by for 2012!! If you came here from Patti's blog you're on the right track--I think! This hop seems to have some hiccups but you can hop on over to see what fabulous artwork Deb, Nicole and Kristine have created!

For my project I made some of those tag cards that are cut with the cricut with the February SOTM Thoughtful Tidings. This stamp set seems to say everything I would need to say to my husband in a card. I used the masculine paper pack Victory to cut my tag cards. I cut 2 tag cards for each card and layered them together to get the tri-fold affect. Then I added the all the metal to dress it up.
My husband is a real top notch guy!
Inside: We all love him and give him hugs daily.
He does soooo much for us we really can't thank him enough.
Inside: Many, many, many, many thanks for all he does.
He really does touch alot of lives...not just ours.
Inside: He gets many hugs from all the kids in the neighborhood.
Just to let him know we do appreciate him
Inside: And here we can write a personal note to tell him so.

So now I'm set for the year with cards for my Husband. It was fun to make these and I can't wait to give them to him. Now it's time to hop over to Kristine's blog to see her gorgeous creations. Hope to see you next month.

It's A 1-2-3 Challenge at Heart 2 Heart

This week at Heart2Heart is a 1-2-3 Challenge!! For this challenge we are to create something using 1 stamp, 2 different patterned papers and 3 embellishments. The embellishments can be all 3 the same or 3 different ones, you decide. This is going to be a lot of fun.
I've been working on my cards for next month's Art Class where we are making cards cut with the Cricut. This one seemed to fit this week's challenge with a few modifications. Originally I had a bakers twine bow in the center of the button and the sentiment attached with a pin clip, but with the wooden shell, the flower, and the wood button I had to delete the twine and clip. Oh, well, that's the fun part of the challenge.

Now let's see what you can do with one stamp, two  patterned papers, and three embellishments. Be sure to post your creation at Heart2Heart.

CTMH Supplies:
B&T Duos: Footloose
Cardstock: Desert Sand, Colonial White
Stamps: Card Chatter: Sympathy
Ink: Cocoa
