It's been quite a year. I sure can say I'm glad it's over. 

I'm looking forward to all good things coming in 2021.

Color Dare 421

Time for Happiness

Happiness comes in the December Stamp of the Month. 

 Along with some wonderful sentiments this stamp set has some 

beautiful flowers for coloring. I water colored with ink pads 

Scarlet and Sage. I bordered the card with Desert Rose CS.

 I didn't want my sentiment to dark so I used second 

generation Black. For some color inspiration be sure

 to visit Color My Heart each week.

 

Autumn Orange

With Pumpkins and Leaves

When Orange came up at Color My Heart I wanted to pass. I don't do orange. Then I remembered my favorite CTMH Pumpkin and Textured Leaves that come in shades of orange. Added a little brown and now I'm sending Autumn Wishes to you and yours as we celebrate Thanksgiving.

 I made this simple and easy JOY card. The background is the 

Stitched Lattice card front and the snowflake is from Elegant Snowflakes.

 I added some Evergreen and Clover holly leaves 

with some Raspberry berries.

This angel was an accident and headed for the trash when with a second look I came up with this card. I was trying to make the angel white with white daisy pigment ink. It didn't turn out so I stamped Blue Belle on top of the white daisy which left the white shadow around the edge of the angel. I set it aside and came back the next day and came up with this card. Sometimes mistakes turn out to be a new and different technique.

For my card I used Candy Apple, New England Ivy, and Gold.

The card has a Candy Apple on Black base with a black lattice paper accent piece (a sneak peak from the new book coming on Sunday). I used the flower from Operation Smile and added some gold glitter trim and a gold glitter gem in the center of the flower.

Tabbed Doors Tutorial

A Fun and Playful Card

Make this Birthday Card for someone's special day.

Step 1. Cut the tabbed door thin cut from any cardstock.

 I used white daisy.

Step 2. Cut doors off to use as a placement guide.

Step 3. Cut a tabbed door front from your choice of paper.

Cut another tabbed door front from a coordinating cardstock.

Step 4, Cut selected doors from the paper tabbed door front

 and attach to the doors on the cardstock door front. 

Step 5, Decorate the remaining doors as desired.

Step 6. Cut the border off the paper card front and

 attach to the cardstock door front.

Step 7. Use the placement guide to add the images

 and sentiments behind the doors.

Step 8. Attach the door front to the images sheet.

Step 9. Open the doors for a fun surprise behind each door.

Step 10 Decorate inside card as desired.

Color My Heart 415

Meets Atlantic Hearts Sketch

The Color Dare at Color My Heart are the colors from the new 

Lovely paper pack that includes the new color of the year Blue Belle.

 The sketch from Atlantic Hearts made this card fun and easy to make. 

I used the Blue Belle CS for card front made from the new

 Stitched Lattice Background. My other colors are 

Ballerina, and Evergreen. I added some BTP paper

 from the Lovely PP and made the flowers 

and sentiment from the Operation Smile Stamp set. 

These two Heart blogs do make my heart happy.

Shaker Card Tutorial

Fun Shaker cards are easier now with our 

window foam and acetate kits.

Our kits come in all shapes for all occasions.

Step 1. Choose your shape. You can choose from squares, 

rectangles, circles, stars and hearts.

Step 2. choose your paper pack and the coordinating

 color for your shaped frame.

Step 3. Cut the base section Stamp on the base or cut

 the base out of decorative paper.

Step 4 Add your window foam to your base leaving om the 

protective cover.

Step 5. Powder inside the shape with baby powder to prevent 

the shaker pieces from sticking to the foam.

Step 6. Add your desired shaker elements: sequins, 

star confetti, beads, cut outs, etc.

Step 7. Pull off foam protective tape and add the

 acetate window to the sticky foam.

Step 8. Adhere the window frame to the acetate cover. 

Step 9. Your shaker window is ready to add to your card.

With Bloom With Grace

Using the colors Fern, Expresso, and Desert Rose from the 

bottom row on the Tic Tac Toe board. Also added some 

Sundance and French Vanilla. I used the thin cut only 

from Textured Leaves for the leaf shape. The stamped

 images and sentiment are from With a Thankful Heart 

stamp set. The wood grain paper has Expresso

wood grains with a French Vanilla base.

Distressed Oxide Ink

Background Tutorial

Use the new Distressed Oxide Inks to make some fun backgrounds for a Christmas Nativity Scene. There are 14 colors top choose from in our new Ink collection. I used the blending technique for the background on the card. The ink colors are Antique Linen, Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry, and Chipped Sapphire. You will need the ink blending tool with the foam applicators for this technique.

Step 1. Apply the first coat of color with the blending tool using a circular motion on your white cardstock.

Step 2. Apply a second color next to the first color using the circular motion to blend the two colors together. You can see where the Picked Raspberry on the Mustard Seed made a shade of orange.

Step 3. Apply the third color using the circular motion blending the Chipped Sapphire with the Picked Raspberry to make a little shade of purple.

Step 4. Apply a spatter of glittery drops for the night sky with your clear shimmer brush.

Stamp your selection of images on your blended background with your Black Ink pad. 

Add a sentiment of your choice. Soften the edges of the Mustard Seed with the Antique Linen Ink using a circular motion to blend the two colors.

For Prayer

Saturday on the National Mall was the Prayer March 

for our country. Thousands of people gather with each 

other to pray for our nation. Even if we couldn't

 be there we can join our hearts in prayer for our 

nation as we face these uncertain days.

We pray that God will heal our nation and believe that He is making 

all things new as His Word tells us. Only God can heal a broken heart

 and make it new. Only God can win against the turmoil that seems 

to be raging across our great cities. Pray for peace to fill the hearts 

of those who need peace. Calm the winds of turmoil and set 

our country on a new path of hope and peace.

My color choices are from the top row on the Tic Tac Toe board below: 

Eggplant, Saffron, and Pixie with an accent base of Thistle.

I colored the Christmas Ball in the center with Saffron, Shaded around the gold with Pixie and edged it with Eggplant. I used Eggplant to stamp the word background on Thistle cardstock. The slim line card pattern is a copy right released pattern from the Wishes Card program Top Band. There is a Silver glitter star on the top of the manger.
