It's Tic Tac Toe Time

It's always fun to make a stamped background to place

Celebrating Mothers

Mothers are our angels all year long. They love us, 

guide us, protect us and are always our cheer leader

What mother is not the best?  Take the challenge at

The colors for this card come from the Tic Tac Toe 

challenge at Color My Heart. I used the second 

line down: Pixie, Pewter, and Raspberry. This card 

also has a random stamped background with cut images 

from the new Stitched Together Cricut Collection 

and the May Stamp of the Month.

Colors from Color My Heart

Juniper, Mink, and Raspberry

Mother's Day is coming May 13. Use these 

fun colors to make a special card for your 

mother, daughter, daughter-in-law or that

special motherly friend. All mother should

 be celebrated so share the spirit and spread 

the love with a special card.

For this card I used the Juniper paper from the 

new Fresh Air paper pack and the zip strip from 

the new Beautiful Friendship paper pack. 

The oval is cut using the the new Stitched Ovals

Thin Cuts. The sentiment comes from the

Short & Sweet stamp set.

It's Sketch Time

With Freshly Made Sketches

I used the sketch below and Chelsea Gardens to make this card.

With the sentiment  inserted in the flowers it can be used for a

Birthday card, Mother's Day card, Wedding card or any other

card that is for a special day. The flowers are colored with water

color pencils. To get the water color look for the leaves stamp image

 in ink, stamp off to 2nd generation, spray with light mist of water

and stamp on white daisy CS.

A Real Color Challenge

And Mum's the Word

A real challenging color challenge at Color My heart 

that happens to go with Mum's the Word at Heart 2 Heart

With Ruby and Crystal Blue and White Daisy with

Colonial White this makes a real challenge. For me Ruby

is too bold to go with Crystal Blue. So to soften Ruby 

I stamped it second generation. Then I used Colonial

White for my mat under my White Daisy Sentiment piece.

The two whites were a good mix with the white shimmer trim.

And, a Happy Mother's Day card goes over to Heart 2 Heart.

At Heart 2 Heart

It's Time To Stuff Your Envelopes

Heart 2 Heart has fun with envelopes this week. Envelopes can be used for

 hidden journaling on a scrapbook page, special notes on cards, 

a gift holder on a package, a mini pocket album, and the list goes on. 

Envelopes are a fun way to embellish a card or scrapbook page.

I made one of my favorite cards and envelope from the Artiste Cricut cartridge. 

I cut the card and envelope on page 72 of the Artiste Cricut booklet at 2 inches. 

I used the card as the "Mom" insert in the envelope for the focal point. 

Then I used my friend Aime's quilling tool technique to make the flower, 

added a few leaves and some trinkets. Now my card is ready for Mother's Day.

I made one card for my Mom and one for my daughter.

 My mom likes the vintage look with all the embellishments. 

It was a little challenging to mail. I hope it gets there safely.

My daughter is the purple queen. Everything purple for her. 

I added a little honey for her sweetness.

Celebrating Mothers

As Mother's Day is approaching Heart 2 Heart is celebrating our Moms. Whether you call her Mama, Ma, Mom, Mother it's that time of the year to celebrate our Mothers. When a child is born a Mother is born and a supernatural Love fills the air. I usually call my mother "Mom" but when I really want to get her attention I call her "Mother!" Then she says "Yes, Daughter" and the conversation begins.

For my card I used Grey Flannel for it's softness and Blush for my Mom's favorite color. I added a flower that reminds me of her paintings (she does water color flowers), a heart for her love and a butterfly that reminds me of new life that she gave me.

Hats on Parade

Did you see all those "crazy" hats at William and Catherine's wedding? What's with wearing a hat on your forehead? I'm really behind the times when it comes to hats. However, I did come up with some hat cards for Mother's Day. Not too fashionable but easy to make.

My friend gave me a hat card a few years ago so I dug it out and made a few. The pattern is below in case you want to make some unfashionable hats.

Bohemian 5-Card Night

By special request to use 1 stamp set 5 different ways at 5 Card Night, we begin with the "Bohemian Alphabet." This be a challenge for me but I'm usually up for a challenge. I think the hardest part will be choosing the stamp sets. Any suggestions will be welcomed.
