It's Back to School Time at Our House and at Heart 2 Heart

Heart 2 Heart is celebrating Back To School time. In our house I celebrate back to school with my granddaughter and grandson every year with a back to school ensemble of goodies created and designed just for them.
For  Ashley, she gets a new spiral note book for all those notes she need to take, and post-it clippy board for all the post-its she post around the house, a new luggage tag for her back pack and of course a little chocolate. These were designed with her favorite colors.
For Zachary, he gets a new spiral notebook for all his notes, a package of pencils (he's always looking for a pencil), and a personalized RSVP pen. I don't know why but he doesn't do chocolate.

Now if you're looking for some back to school inspiration for your child, a special teacher, a school councilor, or your neighborhood kids be sure to check out Heart 2 Heart this week. If you have some back to school inspiration please share with us as we celebrate this special time of the year. Don't forget this is the last week to to enter the August Challenges. Stylin' With a Stitch at Heart 2 Heart

This week the Heart 2 Heart challenge has each design team member creating a card that was done in their own typical "style".  I'm not sure I have a style but I really like vintage and anything to do with sewing. I've been a seamstress for over 50 years and I think I have done my fair share of stitching through the years but when stitching on cards entered the scene I was all over it. I pulled out my sewing machine and began stitching on cards.

So, for my vintage card I used Sonoma and Typeset BTP.  I pulled from my sewing supplies some seam tape for a ribbon, added a little stitching and lace, and a button from the Basic Button Assortment. Adding the sentiment with the stick pin and a triple layered butterfly finishes the card.
Now it's your turn. If you're a seamstress and you want to CASE (copy and share everything) this card just use what ever sewing supplies you have on hand to make your project. It will be fun to see what you come up with. Have fun and happy sewing... on your cards. Be sure to post your creation at Heart 2 Heart.
CTMH Supplies:
BTP: Typeset, Sonoma
Cardstock: Colonial White
Stamps: Card Chatter-Sympathy, Noted Backgrounds
Ink: Smokey Plum
Embellishments: Basic Assorted Buttons, Flutter Paper shapes, Pin Clips
From my stash: Seam Tape ribbon, lace

Each Layered Label can be used on a card, gift bag, scrapbook layout, package, etc, When ever you need a sentiment you are ready to add a Layered Labels to any project.

The challenge this week at Heart 2 Heart is a birthday theme for kids. My kids are grown and my youngest grandson is turning 13 in a month. No more eating on the kids menu. Needless to say I don't have much in the way of "kid" stamps. So, I pulled out my little friends in the Hot Diggitty stamp set to make a girl card and a boy card.
My girl card is made with the new Roxie paper pack and features the singing chick with a "Tweet" message.
My boy card is made with the new Elemental paper pack and features the Hot Diggity hoppin' frog.

This week we welcome 2 new sponsors  Melinda Everitt and Lisa Sargent.  Thank you so much for sponsoring some amazing prizes for August participants.  Be sure to check out the prizes at the Heart 2 Heart challenge blog.  Now,  it's your turn to share your birthday project for kids at Heart 2 Heart and be eligible to win a fabulous prize.
