Step It Up with Avonlea

Color Dare Gets a Step Up
This week's colors at Color My Heart are Creme Brulee, Sorbet and Twilight.
Those colors are the main colors in the Clementine paper pack.
I've been playing with the Step It Up Palettes by Tresa Black.
Debuting in  the new Fall/Winter Idea Book there are three new
paper packs that feature “Trend Colors.”  Flirty, Avonlea and La Belle Vie
paper packs have two or more limited edition colors.
Tresa gives us some other colors to use with each of these packs to
Step It Up. She uses Creme Brulee, Sorbet, and Twilight with the
Avonlea Paper Pack. I decided to give this a try with this card set.

So get out your Creme Brulee, Sorbet, and Twilight
and take the Dare at Color My Heart.

Cardstock: Creme Brulee, Sorbet, Twilight, Colonial White

Back to School Time

A Post It Note Holder
The Heart 2 Heart challenge this week is to craft something for back to school.  Also at Inspired By the inspirational photo is all about apples. I originally made this for the Inspired By challenge but it just happened to fit the Heart 2 heart challenge. Very seldom does it work for me to make one project for two challenges.
For teacher or student this post it note holder will work for all those important  messages.
Using two coasters, cover with Scholastic B&T Duos. Add your back to school images.
Put the coasters together with Bind It All spiral and attach the post it notepad inside.
If you don't have a Bin It All you can use binder rings to make the book.
Insert some coordinating B&T inside the RSVP pen and
tie some ribbon scraps to the clip of the pen.

Now it's your turn to share your crafty Back to School project at Heart 2 Heart

Color My Heart with Less is More

A new Color Dare and Challenge

The Color My Heart color dare: Blush, Hollyhock, Olive
The card challenge: Less is More Week 81 "Tearing"
This color combination is one of my favorites. I chose a stamp set that
I haven't used in a while. The simpleness of the card is the challenge at
Less is More. Create a simple card with clean lines, minimal elements,
areas of white space and few or no embellishments. Now, this is harder than
you think. Lots of white space and no embellishments. That is so not me.
However, it was really fun to just grab the stamps set, the ink pads,
and do some tearing. So take the dare at Color My Heart
and take the challenge at Less is More

Cardstock: Olive, Colonial White
Ink: Blush, Hollyhock, Olive

Hands On Fun

Celebrating the new Paper Packs

At my Open House CTMH Celebration of the new Fall/Winter Idea Book
I cut papers from all the new packs using my 6X6 sheets. I packaged some
old give away stamps together so each person could choose which stamps
they wanted for their card. We made card #28 from the new
Make It From Your Heart how to publication. Each person could choose
which papers they wanted to use and which stamps they wanted to keep.
It was a fun way to introduce the new papers.
CTMH Supplies:
B&T Duos: Flirty
Cardstock: Olive
Stamps: Give Aways from Dream Big
Ink: Olive, Sunset
Embellishments: Seam Binding Ribbon
Note: I used the Color Confidence with Flirty as described by Tresa Black for my color choice.

Scrapbook Shadow Box

A Ballerina Keepsake

Ashley's solo in the Nutcracker Ballet was her part in the Waltz of the Flowers.
For her keepsake Shadow Box I've been wanting to try some of those3-D roses
made with the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge. However, since I wouldn't put them
on a card or in a scrapbook this option seemed just right for some 3-D roses.

Welcome to the National Stamping Month blog hop featuring the new stamp set "It's Your Day."

For my project I made a memory book for my granddaughter Ashley who is a Senior in High School. She is a major photographer and enjoys life to the max. Her Senior Year will be a memorable and exciting one and now she will have a place to save all her favorite events, thoughts, and activities.

With Sympathy at Heart 2 Heart

The first challenge this month at Heart 2 Heart is to create a
sympathy cardThis can be a difficult thing to make, as by definition,
it acknowledges some one's loss.Words of encouragement and sympathy
on a hand-made creationis a wonderful way to share heart felt love and prayers.

The inside reads "that God will keep you in His care."
It's nice to have sympathy cards handy because sometimes you

Using the Scraps

Leftovers from Clementine
This week at Heart 2 Heart Challenge we are to use scraps on our project.
So since I've been getting ready to party with Clementine I had lots of scraps on the table.
Besides the scraps of Clementine papers I had scraps of our new burlap ribbon
to make some pennants as described on page 17 in the new Fall/Winter Idea Book.I also used some left over embroidery floss for the stitching around the square scrap.
The Challenge: grab your scraps and share with us at H2H.
The New Fall/Winter CTMH Idea Books brings brand new paper packs, coordinating embellishments, ribbons, stamps and 6 new colors. Although we are saying goodbye to 24 colors, we have stream lined our base of colors so we can add new colors that are exclusive to the current paper packs. The Clementine Paper Pack has three new colors: cashmere, champagne, and saddle along with the whimsy colors of twilight, sorbet, and creme brulee.
CTMH Supplies:
B&T Duos: Clementine
Cardstock: Colonial White
Ink: Saddle, Sorbet
Stamps: Casual Expressions
Embellishments: Burlap Ribbon, Antique Copper Brads, Hemp
