Something Splendid on the Blog Hop Trail

Welcome to our August Stamp of the Month blog hop. Something Splendid is waiting for you. This stamp set has 13 stamps, including one large daisy, one small daisy and assorted leaves and sentiments. If you have come from Kim's blog you are on the right path.

Use your daisy as a focal point on a card, gift box, or money card

For a 3-D daisy, stamp the large daisy and cut out. Stamp another daisy and cut out the petals. Curl the petals and attach to the first daisy in layers for the 3-D effect. Color some fun flock with your chocolate chalk for the flower center.

To make your money card just print the pattern from the CD in the back of Originals right on your card stock. Random stamp the top flap with the small daisy. Use the marker to accent the daisy with dots. Cut out the scalloped end with decorative scissors and assemble according to the directions. Tie the card closed with a ribbon and add your 3-D daisy.

Now it's time to hop over to Kristie's blog to see what splendid treasures she has created.

Elegant Colors are at Heart 2 Heart

This week Heart 2 Heart has a color challenge for us. The colors are richly elegant and they inspire beauty and grace for any project.

This card is a 5 X 7 from Originals. The design is "Fancy Five." I stamped the daisy flower from Endless Friendship with Blush, cut it out and ink the tips with Vineyard Berry. I then stamp another daisy and cut out the petals. I curled the cut out petals and layered them on top of the first stamped flower. The flower is inserted into an oval frame.
All supplies are CTMH:
Papers: That's Amore
Card Stock: Vineyard Berry, Colonial White
Ink: Blush, Vineyard Berry, Creme Brulee
Stamps: Endless Friendship
Embellishments: Colonial White Ribbon, Creme Brulee Ribbon. Fancy Pins, Winter Buttons

Be sure to visit the Heart 2 Heart blog this week to get some richly elegant inspiration.

It's ABC time at Heart 2 Heart

What a honor to be invited to be a Guest Designer on Heart 2 Heart. This week is ABC time...Anything But a Card. I love making cards, I really love making scrapbook pages, but I'm in heaven when I get to make a crafty 3-D project. Love gluing that paper to everything that needs paper.
For my ABC project I decided to update our kitchen clip board that holds our shopping list notepad. It is a 6 X 9 clip board with a 3 1/2 X 8 notepad and a coordinating RSVP pen.

The coordinating pen is tied to the clip board with a beaded piece of waxy flax. To add your waxy flax to your pen just take the top off and punch a hole through the top of the lid with a nail and hammer. Thread the waxy flax through the hole and tie with a knot so the flax won't come out. String your beads and tie off with a knot at the end of the beads. Tie the waxy flax to the bar on the top of the clip board. I used a UHU glue stick to attach the papers to the clip board. Embellished with ribbons and Cherry-O Opaques.

All Supplies are CTMH
Papers: Cherry-O
Stamps: Bowl of Cherries
Ink: Tulip, Sweet Leaf, Crystal Blue, Chocolate
Embellishments: Assorted Ribbons, White Daisy Mini Medley, Chery-O Opaques, Waxy Flax
Other: 6 X 9 clip board, Notepad, RSVP Pen, beads

It's City Scape at Heart 2 Heart

The "City Scape" design from Wishes is a 4 3/4 X 3 size card. One of my favorite uses for Wishes is to take the measurements of a design and enlarge them to fit a larger project. For this project I multiplied the original measurements by 1 1/2 to fit the front of my notepad cover.

Front of 5 X 8 notepad cover with inside pocket. Pear is colored by reverse masking(Tutorial for reverse masking can be found HERE). To make dots on the bigger brad mix Create a Shade paint with reinker and use a stylus to paint the dots.

Inside has a side pocket to hold your notes.

I couldn't resist making a pink one so I could use the strawberry stamp.

All supplies are CTMH:
Papers: Evensong, Jingle, Perfect Day
Card Stock: Buttercup, Garden Green, Baby Pink, Tulip
Stamps: Fruitful Delight, Comments, Enjoy the Journey, Enjoy Every Moment
Ink: Garden Green, Buttercup, Tulip
Accessories: Summer Posies, Big Pinks, Spring Blossom Brads, Autumn Harvest Brads, Autumn Buttons
Other: 5 X 8 Notepad

Be sure to visit the Heart 2 Heart blog for more inspiration with "City Scape"
You can find the pattern for this notepad cover HERE.

After you make your cover you can attach a coordinating piece of card stock 5 X 8 to cover the back.

Geared Up for Tinkerin' Under Water

I am trying to keep up with Helen and her scrapbook challenges. Keeping up with Helen? What was I thinking? Anyway, this is challenge #66, "Proof Preview" from Imagine. We had plenty of July fun as we started off with an underwater adventure. Ashley dived in and with our waterproof camera we got these shots.
I used the Level I Tinkerin' paper pack(X7113A) and stickies for this layout. No stamping involved.
Attach your stickie letters to a 1" strip of card stock for easy positioning.

The underwater gear is listed in the journal box using the tags that come with the stickies.
Also, had fun using the cute badge buttons(Z1159) that coordinate with this paper pack.

Happy Birthday America

I heard this rendition of the Pledge to the American Flag this week and I thought you might want to read it.

I(me, and individual, a committee of one) pledge(dedicate my worldly good to give without self pity) allegiance(my love and my devotion) to the flag(our standard, Old Glory, a symbol of freedom where ever she waves, there's respect because your loyalty has given her dignity that shouts "Freedom is everybody's job") of the United(we have all come together) States(individual communities that have united into 50 great states with purpose. All divided with imaginary boundaries, yet united to a common cause: the love of country) of America, and to the Republic(a state in which sovereign power is invested in representatives chosen by the people to govern. Government is the people, it is from the people to the leaders not the leaders to the people) for which it stands, one nation(so blessed by God) under God, indivisible(incapable of being divided), with liberty(which is freedom and the right of power to live one's life without threats, fear, or retaliation), and justice(the principle and quality of dealing fairly with others) FOR ALL

Have a happy birthday celebration as we celebrate our freedom and our nation.

Saturday's Scrapbooking Adventure

It's a road trip with Helen's scrapbook challenge this week. Our travel adventure is portrayed in a layout using "Three Part Harmony" from Imagine. This summer our roadtrips will be trips to the beach for some sun and surf.

Zachary surfing it up on his board.

It is always fun to be able to use my retired papers. This paper from "Laid Back" just seemed to fit.

I couldn't stop at one 2-page layout. I had to do one with Ashley, too.

Ashley's our ballerina girl. Remember "Dancing on the Beach"

I guess you can take the surfer girl out of the ballerina, but you can't take the ballerina out of the surfer girl. that ballerina pose is always ready to go. And, who could resist that smile?

I guess keeping the balance on the board is just as important as keeping the balance on her toes.
