My Mood is Cool......

But the Color and Mood Challenge #7 is to create a warm project. I generally gravitate to the blues, purples, and greens(cool colors) when making a project. But for this challenge we were challenged to make a project using colors that are not the ones we would gravitate to.

For my project I used Olivia for my "warm" colors to make this card.
Now it's your turn to make a "cool" or "warm" project.  You can post your creation Here.

CTMH Supplies:
Paper: Olivia
Cardstock: Colonial White
Ink: Barn Red, Smoothie
Stamps: Circle Together, Eclectic Edges

Christmas in July

It's a Christmas in July Challenge at Diana's challenge blog this week. Be sure to visit her challenge blog and share with us your Christmas in July creations.

For my "July" Christmas card I used a heart doily with a "merry" banner, cranberry button with bakers twine and double bow made with seam binding ribbon. Simple criss cross dry embossing on the base of the card adds texture to the bamboo cardstock.

Doilies & Lace at Heart 2 Heart

Pretty and frilly describe the challenge this week at Heart 2 Heart.  Doilies are a fun item to add to your creations and lace works on all those sweet and frilly cards or scrapbook pages.  I have been playing with the lacey images in the Simple Memories stamps set and decided to use them with my Doilies Spellbinder die cut. Added a little old fashioned lace and some ribbon and to make this simple card for my friend who needs
to have a wonderful day.
Hope you can join us this week at Heart 2 Heart with some doily and/or lace creations.  You could win some great prizes from our sponsors S'andra and Tonya. Looking forward to seeing what pretty and frilly projects you create.

More Inspiration at Heart 2 Heart

My inspiration started last week when I made the water color background for the jar of flower pens. I wanted to use the water color background to make some thank you cards for my Mom. She loves to send hand written thank you notes for everything. The background just happened to be her favorite colors. After I made the cards I made a coordinating canvas bag to hold them.

Card #1 Greeting Card Workshop from Wishes
Card #3 Greeting Card Workshop from Wishes
Card #4 Greeting Card Workshop from Wishes
Card #6 Greeting Card Workshop from Wishes
Card #8 Greeting Card Workshop from Wishes
Card #7 Greeting Card Workshop from Wishes
My color inspiration came from the 2010 Autumn/Winter Idea Book page 62 & 63. I've been wanting to play with these colors (Sunny Yellow, Lagoon, Pear) since I first saw them in the Idea book. I even got to use my retired sunny yellow posies featured on those pages.
To make the water color background put several drops of Sunny Yellow and Lagoon reinker on a pad of baby wipes. Crumple a plastic bag and pat in the ink. Lightly spray the ink with a mist of water with the spray pen and daub onto white daisy card stock. After you have the desired results add some reinker to the left over water and lightly spray the white daisy to fill in the white areas. Be sure to use both reinker colors in separate spray pens.

Now it's your turn to show us your inspiration for a beautiful creation. Be sure to share with us at
Heart 2 Heart and you could win some terrific prizes from our sponsors S'andra or Tonya. Can't wait to see all the gorgeous inspirational works of art.

CTMH Supplies:

Cardstock: White Daisy
Ink: Sunny Yellow, Lagoon
Stamps: Thank You

Use on a photo hanger for a pull.
Tie on buttons to hold a pennant.
Now it's your turn to show us what you can do with a bow.  Then share your creation with us at Diana's Stamping Challenge #2 Bows.

It's All About The Inspiration at Heart2Heart

Welcome to the first Heart 2 Heart challenge for July! We begin our week with a new Design Team! Welcome aboard Brenda, Debi, Michelle, and Pamela as they join Haley, Mary and me at Heart 2 Heart. We also have a guest DT, Tracy, joining us this week. Be sure to visit their blogs for some amazing inspiration.

Inspiration will be the challenge this week at Heart 2 Heart. Take a look at this picture. What inspires you? When I first saw it I was inspired by the white bottles filled with flowers. Then I noticed the greens and yellows behind the jars that looked like some water color.

For my project I was excited to use some mason jars that I painted white like in 1999. They have been sitting in a box just waiting to be used. I cut the back side of the stripped paper from Bliss on the diagonal to get the diagonal stripes. I then cut the Hollyhock and blush colored strips from the Sophia stripped paper. The paper was then attached to the jars.  To make the flower pens, use a Bic pen, remove the top cap, insert some flowers and wrap with floral tape. Fill the jar with beans and arrange the flower pens in the jar. The smaller jar has a votive candle setting inside the top of the jar. I also created the water color background using the spray pens with water & reinkers.

Now, it's your turn. Use the picture for your inspiration and create a beautiful project to share with us at Heart 2 Heart. I can't wait to see your awesome creations.
