Level I Goes Happy Forever at July's Blog Hop

Welcome to our July Stamp of the Month Blog Hop. If you've been wanting to hop with hedgehogs you are in the right place. "Happy Forever" is a fun stamp set with 4 happy critters, 3 sayings, 1 butterfly and 1 heart. These happy little critters can help you celebrate every season, holiday and occasion that you might have. Don't miss your chance to get this set. If you have come from Susan's blog you are on the right track.
For my project I used the Level I paper pack from Zippidee to make some fun for kids. My first item is a quiet book for those kids who are waiting somewhere and they need to be shhhhh....quiet. I used two of the preprinted 12 X 12 sheets and cut them in half. Then I folded those in have to make a 6 page book with a front and back cover. I also used the letters that come in the Level I kit for all the titles.

Front Cover

Back Cover

Page 1 has balloons with magnets on the back that can be removed and matched to the right color. Page 2 has flowers that can be buttoned and unbuttoned from the page.

Page 3 has 2 bows that be tied and untied on the kite. Page 4 wants you to learn how to count to ten by counting the butterflies.

Page 5 has 3 shapes in the pocket with magnets on the back. They can be put on each shape. Page 6 has 2 pockets, one with a coloring pad and one with crayons. The coloring pad has pages of all the critters for some fun coloring.

After making this little book, I wanted to use the rest of the Level I to make a card coloring kit.
I used the remaining preprinted pages, cardstock, and BTP papers to make some cards that need coloring. I used a 9 X 9 page protector to make a holder for the cards.

Insert coloring cards/envelopes and crayons in the card holder.

Cards from Originals: A Heartfelt Classic, On Your Left, Lucky Three, and Greeting Pouch. These cards are made with the cardstock and BTP left over from the book.

These cards are the same designs and made with the preprinted sheets and BTP left over from the book.

Hope you are having fun with our Happy Forever critters this month. Now it's time to hop over to Traci's blog to visit with her happy critters.

Saturday's Scrapbooking Adventure

In an attempt to catch up on my scrapbooking I going to try to play along with Helen's weekly scrapbook challenges. This week's challenge is from Reflections: "Title Topper:Pieced Together" and "Front and Center: Mosaic." Helen's challenge was a masculine layout to celebrate Father's Day. However, our Father's Day Weekend was celebrated at the theater as Ashley performed for the Inland Dance Theater.

Ashley's first Pas de Dix with partner Anthony Jackson
I had to get creative with the title pieces since there wasn't any suitable BTP

If you would like to play along just check Helen's blog on Sundays to see the new challenge.

Color Challenge at Heart2Heart

This week's Heart 2 Heart Challenge is a color challenge. For me the colors were not as much of a challenge as was my choice of what to post on the H2H blog. The colors Buttercup, Tulip, and Black are fun colors to work with. However, I did agree with Carol that some green would have been a great compliment to this challenge. So this is my post for the H2H challenge staying true to the three colors. But if you want to see more with some green go here.

This card is fast and easy to create. Just ink the image with black, color the center of the flowers with buttercup and water brush the flowers with tulip(it turns shades of redish pink) and water brush the leaves with black(green if you want). Cut 2 ovals and adhere to the center of the top of the card. Punch a decorative border, add some color at the bottom and a ribbon and you're done.
Most supplies are CTMH:
Cardstock: White Daisy, Black
Ink: Tulip, Buttercup, Black
Stamps: Enjoy Every Moment
Tools: Water brush, border punch(MS), sanding block
Embellishment: ribbon

Be sure to visit the Heart 2 Heart blog for more color inspiration!

Inspiration from Heart 2 Heart

This week's Heart 2 Heart Color Challenge inspired me to get going on my coasters that have been sitting in the to do pile. I have had these coasters for awhile and couldn't decide how to color them until now. The color inspiration came from H2H and the coloring technique is reverse masking. See tutorial for Reverse Masking Here

Photos to Scrap

Lately, organizing my photos for scrap booking has become an issue. With the new age of digital photography there are just too many photos to choose from. Thanks to CTMH and the new Recipe/Photo Box(Z1322) I now have a handle on the situation. Only the best photos go in the box. Now I will need to organize the inside for easy picking. Insides to come later, I'm just glad to have a place to put my photos.

Note: When I first saw this new product from CTMH it was easy to decide if I should use it for my photos or for my recipes. Since I don't like to cook and most of the recipes I do cook are in my head I really didn't need a recipe box. So, photo box it is!
I also have been wanting to try those gorgeous roses that everyone is making. This seemed like a good place to plant one. Try one for yourself (Directions here). They are pretty easy to make.

Scraps R Us at Heart 2 Heart

For my Heart 2 Heart challenge this week I wanted to use Jeanette's Rich and Regal colors from Color Me Monday. I pulled out my chocolate scraps from Twitterpated and Topstitch, my Creme Brulee scraps from Veranda and Bella, my only Autumn Terracotta from Boom-Di-Ada and the Brown Bag scraps from Passages.

Now in our house the man we will celebrate on Father's Day will be my husband, dad to our daughter Carrie, grandpa to Ashley and gramps to Zach. This year I made this 4 pocket card. We each have a tag to write him a special massage and insert into one of the pockets.

Heart 2 Heart goes from Sketchy to Scrappy

Last summer, I couldn't get enough of the Moon Doggie paper pack. It seemed like the perfect paper pack to use for this week's Heart 2 Heart challenge. Scrapping is always fun when you have a great paper pack and some really cool photos. My husband is always showering me with his latest photo shoots.
And of course, it is even more fun when the subject matter is my beautiful dancing granddaughter, Ashley. She was born on her toes.

The beach was quiet that day and she couldn't resist dancing on the beach.
Thank you, Grandpa for the cool photos!

All supplies are CTMH:
Paper: Moon Doggie
Cardstock: Desert Sand, Bamboo, Colonial White
Ink: Cranberry, Sunflower, Desert Sand, Indian Corn Blue
Stamps: Extreme Happiness, Footprints
Embellishments: Love Letters Rub Ons, Dimensional Element Monograms, and Colonial White
