Saturday Scrapbook Adventure

Helen's "Magician's Choice" from Magic challenge #73 was the inspiration this week's scrapbook project.
Every year the Ashley and Zach come home with their new school clothes and put on a fashion show. This layout has a little 3X3 accordion folded booklet that opens to see the rest of the show. I used the Notebook paper pack for this layout. The stitching is embroidery thread around the edge and the code labels from Code It are machine stitched. The fabric swatches are made by cropping a section of Zach's shirts and sewing them next to the word Fashion.

Classmate Alphabet and cut outs from the journaling sheet complete the look.

The blue square at the top is the accordion 3x3 booklet.

The accordion booklet opened.

Heart 2 Heart has us in Stitches

I was a seamstress long before I ever heard of Close to my Heart. So when I got my sewing machine out my daughter said "Oh, Mom, You're sewing!" Ya, but I'm sewing on cards! What a concept! And....soon I'm going to start adding fabric to my creations. On this card I added some antique lace.

This card has machine stitching on each part of the card and french knots with cranberry embroidery thread at the corners of the squares.

Be sure to visit Heart 2 Heart for all your sewing tips and inspiration.

All supplies are CTMH:
Papers: Mistletoe
Cardstock: Colonial White. Desert Sand
Ink: Garden Green, Cranberry, Desert Sand
Stamps: Everlasting Life, The Present
Embellishments: Opaques, Heart Dimensional Elements, Red Embroidery Thread
Other: Ribbon and lace

Some Color Me Monday Fun

Some Color Me Monday fun colors. I haven't played with Jeanette's color for awhile so I wanted to give it a try. I used some new papers that will be coming in the new Fall/Winter Idea book on September 1. I also made a layered flower with a flower punch and used the creative cluster technique featured on the current episode of Art & Soul. My cluster includes a tag from the Moon Doggie Journaling Spots, my punched flower, and some buttons.

Saturday's Scrapbook Adventure

Helen's scrapbook challenge this week is "Ta-Da" from our new How to Book Magic that will be released for sale on September 1. This book will bring Magic to your layouts using clever interactive techniques.
The background shape for the title "Awesome Foursome" comes on the CD. The block shapes are cut from the Journaling Spots that coordinate with the Moondoggie Paper pack. Add some stamped images(surf boards, flowers) and a few stickies to complete the clustering technique.

The interactive part of this layout is the journaling piece that pulls out from behind the photo. I used the Foundry Tab on the top of a Journaling Spot for the pull tab.

Magic comes with a CD that includes all the patterns for its exclusive parts, shapes, and embellishments.

Hooligans Go Girly

Hooligans go girly with Ashley's 15th Birthday. This is the same Hooligans WOTG as Zach's Birthday layout with a girly twist.

Instead of the critters(not too girly) I cut paper shapes for gift boxes and used the feet and arms from the Hooligans WOTG stamp set "Troublemaker" for the bows.

Again I used the words in the Classmate Alphabet to tell the story.

Saturday Scrapbook Adventure

It's a sneak Peek of our new paper pack coming in September. It's called Hooligans. Hooligans is designed for Halloween, however, in our family we don't do little critters for Halloween so.... my hooligan critters came to Party with Zach on his 11th birthday.

I also used the sayings that come with the Classmate Alphabet to describe the birthday boy.
For this page I didn't have a 5X7 photo so I used two 3.5X5 photos in the spot.

Coming Soon: the same layout turned girly for Ashley.

Saturday's Scrapbook Adventure

"On With the Show" is Helen's scrapbook challenge from Magic. Magic is our newest interactive technique How to Book. This exciting book shows the use of pop ups, pull outs, slides, cascades, and more. There will be lots more drama on your layout from Magic.

Ashley is showcased in this "On With the Show" layout. This dance was from the Spring Showcase and is titled "Uninvited." The eight dancers did not want her to dance with them so she was uninvited. As she began to dance they became inspired and invited her to dance with them. The two photos on the left each have flip flaps to show more of the story.

I used the Card Slide technique to tell the story. As you pull the tab the story appears on each side of the photo.
This layout also gives you a sneak peak of our new Mistletoe Paper pack coming in the new Fall/Winter Idea Book.
