Another Sentiment-ally Yours...

This week at Heart 2 Heart our challenge was to only use a sentiment stamp.  A sentiment only stamped card is harder than you think. So.....for the flower that I couldn't stamp I used one of the Harvest Charms that coordinates with the Dreamin' Paper Pack.

This card is cut with the new Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge. I made a slight deviation to this card. After cutting the card base with Colonial White, I cut a card front with Goldrush. After attaching the front to the base I just trimmed the card to match the front.

If you  haven't posted your sentiment only card  at Heart 2 Heart yet there is still time. Don't miss your chance to win some terrific prizes. This is the last week for this month.

Sentimental Week at Heart 2 Heart

Our new weekly challenge is a sentimental one. The only stamp that you can use is a sentiment stamp. You can use any papers, embellishments, etc. but no stamps unless it is a sentiment.
For my card I used a glassine paper bag for my mat so I could insert a gift card. Adding some ribbon, a flower, some leaves and my sentiment I'm ready for the next birthday that includes a gift card. I also like to combine papers from different paper packs to get more use of what's currently available in the current Idea Book. This card had papers from Elemental, Typeset, and Sonoma.

(sorry, I used stamps on my gift card so it's not part of the challenge)

This is the last week and last challenge of the month so be sure to have all your September entries posted at Heart 2 Heart by Saturday, 10:00 PM, EST to be eligible for the prize drawing and the September Top Ten. If you missed a week you still have time to get it in.

Cardstock Only at Heart 2 Heart

A Cardstock Challenge at Heart 2 Heart
Choose at least 3 colors of cardstock for your project and do not use any patterned paper.
For my projects I used the Cardstock Shade Packs on page 9 of the  Autumn/Winter Idea Book for my color combination inspiration.
Bright Blue Shade Pack uses Heavenly blue, Crystal Blue and Twilight. I stamped a background with second generation Twilight on the Heavenly Blue piece for a little texture. Flower is made from Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge. A little lace and ribbon finishes the card.
Light Yellow and Orange Shade Pack uses buttercup, Creme Brulee, and Sunset. Tone on Tone random stamping with Buttercup ink on Buttercup Cardstock gives it some texture. The flowers are from the Hooray Bouquet On Line Project.
Close to my Heart has 15 Shade Pack combinations to choose from or you can make your own color combination.  Show us your favorite cardstock color combo and post it at Heart 2 Heart and you could win some terrific prizes from our sponsors Heather and Kelly Jo.
CTMH Supplies:

Ink: Twilight, Buttercup, Sunset, Creme Brulee
Stamps: Hooray Bouquet, Love Life
Embellishments: Blue Assorted Buttons, Opaques

Sharing From The Heart Blog Hop

This month's hop consists of  the Stamp of the Month, a color combo (Ponderosa Pine, Pansy Purple, Parchment, Smoothie, & Gray Flannel),  or a Fall creation. If you have come from Doreen's Blog you are on the right path. I hope you enjoy all the gorgeous creations in this hop. Be sure to leave a comment  when you see something you really like. Have fun and thanks for hopping with us.

I was temped to do the color combo (you know how I love Smoothie) but I signed up for a fall creation. I want to experiment with  making a pumpkin with ovals and stitching on a leaf. I used the Dreamin paper pack for my Fall color scheme. The tag is made with Typeset BTP.

Directions for pumpkin: Cut three 1 1/4" ovals using oval #2 on your CTMH Cricut Cartridge. Stamp a tone on tone background stamp on each oval. Overlap two ovals side by side and attach the 3rd oval on top with a pop up. You can add a stem at the top or a leaf. If you don't have the Cricut Cardridge you can use an oval punch, spellbinder, or any other source of oval.

Directions for the stitched leaf: Cut a 2"  leaf with leaf #2 on your CTMH Cricut Cartridge. To make the faux stitching, emboss your leaf  lines with your stylist on your paper trimmer. Sand the lines until the white core shows. Using your piercing tool make holes along the white lines to imitate stitching. If you don't have the Cricut Cardridge stamp a leaf and cut it out. Score your lines so the back of the leaf will show the white lines when you sand them.

Now it's time to hop over to Wendy's blog to see her amazing  Stamp of the Month creation. Happy hopping! See you next month.

Die Cuts R Us at Heart 2 Heart

This week at Heart 2 Heart  we are having fun with die cuts. With the introduction of our new Art Philosophy Cricut Collection, this should be a lot of fun!  If you don't have the new Cricut cartridge from Close to my Heart any die cut will qualify as long as you include CTMH products in your project.

For my project I used the heart shaped container from the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge to make some Christmas Tree Ornaments. I used the three colors from the new Believe paper pack: Sky, Topiary, and Holiday Red. Each ornament has a curled wire handle embellished with a button and ribbon. Fill each heart with some crinkled paper shred and it's ready to hang on the tree.

Now it's your turn to show us your die cut creations. This will be a fun filled week with lots of creative and inspiring die cut magic. Be sure to post your creation at Heart 2 Heart and you could win some terrific prizes from our sponsors Heather and Kelly Jo.

This week at Heart 2 Heart we are celebrating our favorite color combination. We are also pleased to welcome our new Guest Design Team member, Jane.  Be sure to check out her favorite color combo for some color combo inspiration.

Through the years I have had lots of favorite color combos with Close to my Heart,  but right now anything with Smoothie is at the top of my "favorites" list.
For my project I used Sweet Leaf and Olive with Smoothie.  I used Cocoa for an accent
color for the sentiment.
