Doily, Flowers, Lace...BINGO Day 3

I'm really addicted to this weeks H2H BINGO. This one was challenging because I wanted to weave some ribbon through the blush lace when I remembered that ribbon was NOT in this BINGO. O well, I just cut a strip of white daisy cardstock and weaved it through the lace. The white daisy flowers are punched and embossed with the dotted swiss embossing folder. Each flower is then pressed in the center with a stylist on the piercing tool mat until the flower petals raise up. The center of each flower is a scrunched 1/2" circle. Each flower sits on a flower punched with pear cardstock. All the layers are secured with liquid glass.

Lace, Brads, Rub-Ons....BINGO Day 2

Here's my creation of BINGO card #2. I made the lace flower using Connie's directions for making organdy ribbon flowers. When I first made this card I put the usual opaques down the center of the butterfly but then I took them off because they weren't in this BINGO. So, the butterflies got Bitty Brads for heads. Sometimes you have to think out of the box when playing  BINGO with Heart 2 Heart.

Let's Play BINGO at Heart 2 Heart

The BINGO Challenge at Heart 2 Heart is on all week. I must say that this was the most challenging challenge to date but also the most fun. It is really hard for me to confine my creations to using just three items on a project. After I got started I found out that I am now addicted to  H2H BINGO. Once I completed my first BINGO I wanted to try another and another and another. I was playing BINGO all week. It's just a good thing I wasn't too busy with anything else.

 Doily, Ribbon, Gems.....BINGO
Here's your BINGO playing card. Just choose three items in a row to make a BINGO and start creating. It's as simple as that...until you want to add ribbon but it's not in your row. Or, a button would just fill in a perfect spot but that's not in your row either. And who does rub-ons with buttons and gems and no ribbon? Jena, our Guest Designer does. Wow, Jena, great job. Be sure to check out her awesome card
So, choose your BINGO,  put on your creative hat and take the challenge. You will be amazed. Then share your creation with us at Heart 2 Heart and you could be a winner of some terrific prizes from our fabulous sponsors Michelle Owen and Romaine Rancier. This will be the last week to enter for a chance to win Michelle's and Romaine's awesome prizes. You can view the prizes Here.

From Our Heart to Yours This Week at Heart 2 Heart

Next Sunday we celebrate our Dads on Father's Day. In our house we celebrate Grandpa and all that he means to us. I used the new updated random stamping technique from Jeanette's 52 Weeks of Wonder: Random Stamping. I've been wanting to try this technique since the day she presented it on her blog. It was really fun. You can check it out Here.
Finished card made with my random stamped background
Random stamped background updated version: From 3-4 stamps sets choose random images in various sizes.  Start in the top left corner of your project with your largest stamp. Radiate out and downward for best balance with medium and smaller stamps.  Layer stamped images over one another for a natural, textured look. I left a space in the center to add some embellishments.
These are the stamp set I used: Comments, Tag the Occasion, On Your Day, and Party Pennants. These stamp set just seem to say "Let's Celebrate" Grandpa!
When making cards for guys keep in mind that texture is good. For my textures I used a star cut from a cardboard box, some dimensional elements from the Lucky assortment, a button, some metal(photo clip and brads), and some hemp.
Now, instead of a gift, this year we got Grandpa a gift card from his favorite restaurant. So, had to make a card for that. I used the working in clusters of three for this random stamped background. I just stamped the circle from Tag the Occasion 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation Outdoor Denim to make my triangle clusters. I filled in the circles with "Father's Day"
The finished card holds the gift card in the little paper bag.  Added the embellishments for some texture: button, dimensional elements, hemp, and small paper bag.

Now it's your turn. Grab some stamps and randomly stamp up your special background for dad. Then share your creation with us at Heart 2 Heart and you could be a winner of some terrific prizes from our fabulous sponsors Michelle Owen and Romaine Rancier.

Stamps: Comments, Tag the Occasion, On Your Day, Party Pennants
Embellishments: Lucky Dimensional Elements, Wood Buttons, Hemp, Antique Copper Mini Medley, Bitty Brads, Rub on letters.

Here Comes the Bride at Heart 2 Heart

This week's challenge at Heart 2 Heart is all about weddings. Since I've been updating my wedding pictures I decided to share with you the one I was working on this week. What timing.

Forty-three years ago I married my High School sweetheart. Yes, I was a June bride and He was a Navy sailor returning from Vietnam.  This two page layout was with our Grandparents and Parents.
Now, keep in mind in the 1960's there was no digital photography. No touch ups, not much cropping, and very little color control. Color photos weren't always the best and the photo paper was not the best either. After years of being in the wrong book and color fading I found my wedding photos to be in pretty bad shape. My Mother's wedding photos from the 1940's are in better shape than mine.
So, I'm glad I rediscovered them while being with CTMH so I could put them in a safe and beautiful place for the future.  Cropping 43 year old pictures is quite a challenge as well as creating pages to accommodate all  twenty 8 X 10 photos. This two page layout is created using "Magic Act" from Magic. The tag inside the bottom corner holds the full names of our parents and grandparents.

Now it's your turn to take the Heart 2 Heart Wedding challenge. Be sure to check out the design team creations for some inspiration and check back all week to see the creations of those who have taken the Wedding challenge. Our sponsors this month,  Michelle Owen and Romaine Rancier, have generously donated some fabulous prizes that you could win. You have until the end of June to play along with all the challenges and have a chance to win their great prizes. Be sure to use Close to my Heart products in your creations. Have fun and happy creating.
