Water Color Splat

Making a Messy Leaf
It's a messy water coloring challenge at Heart 2 Heart challenge.
Found a left over piece of water color paper so used it to cut some
leaves for water coloring. First, water color the leaf and let dry.
Splat some brown on the leaf and score with embossing tool.
Messy leaf ready for card. Get messy and share at Heart 2 Heart.

Water Color Blocking

With Honey, Poppy, & Cocoa
From the challenge at  Color My Heart.
I found a new CTMH challenge: Between the Folds
and decided to give it a try. The challenge this week was watercolor.
Since we don't currently have washi tape I decided to turn it
into a tool. Use your washi tape to block off the area on your
watercolor paper. Then watercolor the blocked off area the colors
of your choice. I used Poppy and Honey. I used the script block
in Universal Backgrounds with Cocoa ink to give it some texture.
So, Check out Between The Folds each Tuesday for a new
CTMH challenge and be sure to challenge yourself
each week with the Color My Heart Color Dare.

Color Dare 159

The Colors of Sangria
Eggplant Pomegranate Poppy Cocoa Desert Sand Champagne

The new Sangria paper pack brings us bright and cheerful colors of Fall.
Also new this Fall is water coloring of all kinds. I wanted to try coloring the
stamp with the water color paints and stamping on the CS. The challenge
at Color My Heart helped to make this water colored card.
The Sangria paper packs offers a variety of Fall colors to
make this floral stamp fun to paint. Even though the color
challenge does not name a green the paper has a green in it.
So I used New England Ivy ink pad for the green stems on
my stamp. The flowers are Eggplant, Pomegranate, and Poppy.
So, now, it's your turn to share your Sangria creations with us

Coloring Fun

With Markers, Water Colors, and Ink Pads
The coloring challenge at Heart 2 Heart inspired these 3 X 3 gift cards.
Using the stamp set Reindeer Bells I stamped each image with
Archival Black ink. After the ink dried I colored each one with
a different media.
Reindeer and background colored with water color paints.
Packages water colored using ink pads and a wet paint brush.
Santa colored with markers. Face is colored with water color
pencils. Nose and cheeks are also accented with the pencils.
Each card is accented with the bitty icons from Countdown.
Fun to color but more fun to water color.
Share your coloring tips with us at Heart 2 Heart.

I Just Couldn't Wait

To Play With Water Color Paints
Remember these water color paints. They are CTMH circa 1998.
This was my first water color paint set when I first became a CTMH (DOTS)
consultant. The set has 2 color pallets, a mixing dish, and a water
bottle with brush inside the water bowl. Water Colors for traveling.
So when I saw these cards on Amy's Art From The Heart
I just had to give it a try. Since my paints aren't here yet
I dug out my 1998 set and went to work.
I cut some water color paper 4 X 5.25 and used my CTMH
brush to swipe come colors on the bottom of the water color paper.
After it was dry, I attached some B&T, stamped a greeting from
Hello Life that coordinated with the paint color. The best part
is the doodling. I tried some different doodle designs that we
doodled in 1998. Doodling was popular in 1998 and now it's back.
After the art piece was finished I attached to a standard card base.
Thanks Amy, You're always an inspiration!

Hello Life - Pocket Scrapbooking

Welcome Summer
You all know how crazy I am for pocket scrapbooking.
Each little pocket card is like a mini craft creation
and a fun way to use scraps. When my  "Hello Life"
stamp sets arrived this is the one I played with first.
Ashley, Carrie, Laney, and Zach at Mission bay on their paddle boards.
Had so many pictures so pocket scrapbooking came in handy. This page
has more photos and pocket cards on the back and it will be the center

This "Hello Life" pocket scrapbooking stamp set is easy
and fun to use. I made a Welcome Summer mini album which
I will post later. I intend to make one for Autumn, Winter, and Spring
using this same stamp set. If you like pocket scrapbooking you
will want this stamp set. Don't forget it's only available this month.

Paper Garden Water Color

A Fun Water Coloring Technique
I used the CTMH directions that were used on the SOTM Card in the
New Holiday Expressions page 33. A few exceptions: I don't have my
water color paints yet so after stamping the image on Whisper CS
with Whisper ink I colored the image with my water color pencils.
I used the new CTMH water color brushes to blend the pencil colors.
